Grades K–5. Students learn about mantis behavior and life cycle as they observe the mantises hatch, hunt, molt, and grow. Egg cases contain 50-150 baby mantises. Hatching usually takes 2 to 8 weeks, so please be patient! Kit includes an egg case, a small starter fruit fly culture to feed babies, easy instructions, fun activities, and a 24 x 24" poster. Kit can be shipped with egg case and fruit flies included (item #144088) or with a prepaid coupon to request perishable material later at your convenience (item #144089).
Note: Available January to May only. Mantises cannot be released in CT.
